Red-eared sliders

(such as Benjamin, Cleo, Agea)

Red-eared sliders are common in the southern states of the United States.  Popular for many years as pets, red-eared sliders were often released into the wild as they reached their adult size of just under a foot across.  These releases introduced red-eared sliders throughout many areas of the United States.  Red Slider takes place in a northeastern pond, which accounts for the scarcity of red-eared sliders like Benjamin in Turtle Pond.
